3 CBD Oil Myths You Should Know Before Buying

3 CBD Oil Myths to Consider Before Buying

There are many misconceptions about CBD, and we hope to shine a light on them with the posts on this blog. Let’s start with just a few:

Myth #1: CBD is illegal marijuana

The Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (sometimes referred to as the Farm Bill) changed the definition of “Marijuana” (a controlled substance) to exclude “hemp” — plant material containing 0.3 percent THC or less. Thus, CBD isolate (which contains no THC), as well as low-THC full spectrum CBD (as long as it contains 0.3% THC or less), are not controlled substances.

Myth #2 CBD gets you “high”

CBD is not a psychotropic substance and either does not contain THC at all (isolate) or does not contain enough THC to cause psychoactive feelings or experiences (full spectrum).

Myth #3 CBD has to be smoked or vaped

False. There are a plethora of ways to use CBD: it can be ingested or used sublingually, or even made into salves for topical application. The market is booming with everything from CBD cosmetics to beverages and beyond. In fact, Reliva does not offer CBD vaping products.
